“A Challenging Night For Andee At Knoxville"

Bismark, ND- April 28,2014After a solid opening night last week, Andee once again returned to battle for night number two of the Knoxville Championship Cup Series!

Twenty-five of the strongest 305 cars in the Midwest signed in to spar on the famed Knoxville half mile. Andee went out in the second qualifying session, only to have her time disallowed due to being light at the scales after qualifying.

The unfortunate start to the evening buried Andee’s #1k Triple-X deep in the program, forcing her to start last in the third heat race.  With only six laps to make progress and relatively no passing, only one car advanced positions in the race. Andee took the checkered in the 8th position.

Andee was slated to start the A-Feature from the 24th position, but due to several cars failing to make the call, she started the 12-lap affair from 23rd. Andee would continue to fight issues throughout the feature, bringing out the only caution for a spin in Turn 4 about the midpoint of the race.

Andee was officially scored in the 19th position as the checkered flag flew.

Both the team and Andee are certain to rebound from a character building night and regain their week one speed. Growing pains and car issues are always a part of the sport, but Andee is optimistic of her future at Knoxville!

After two events of the Knoxville season, Andee finds herself 17th in points, but will be making a charge to the top!

Next up for Andee is Knoxville Championship Cup Night #3 on May 3rd!

“Andee’s Knoxville Season Kicks Off!”

After much anticipation, Andee was eager to kick off her 2014 season, as the Knoxville Raceway opened for it’s 61st season. Perfect weather graced Knoxville, as did a fantastic crowd and 81 of the best sprint cars across the Midwest.

25 cars signed in for Knoxville’s ever-growing 305 division. After group qualifying was completed, Andee had posted the 19th fastest time with an 18.755.

Andee’s lap would set her up for a 7th place start in Heat 1.  Jeff Wilke won the 6-lap affair, with Andee crossing the stripe in the 8th position.

The 305 A-Feature would see 23 cars go for 12 laps. After a redraw shook up the first four rows of the feature, it was time for Andee to strap in for her first career feature at Knoxville.

The 305 main event soon became chaos. On the initial drop of the green, contact between Kevin Hetrick and Sawyer Phillips sent Phillips into a spin and collected rookies McKenna Haase, Devin Kline and Christopher Scank in the carnage. A second start attempt saw Matthew Stelzer get sideways and Chris Walraven and Kade Higday looping their cars to avoid him. After a long green flag stretch, the final caution flew for Tanner Edwards who suffered a broken front end with two laps to go. On the ensuing restart, J Kinder lost power, and Philben broke his front end after contact with Kinder. Matt Stephenson then retired from his 3rd position as the final two laps were completed.

Andee brought her Kustom-powered Triple-X home 12th in the final results. She was very happy with her first night, citing it was “a dream come true” just to be racing at Knoxville.

Next up for the team will Night #2 from Knoxville Saturday, April 26th!
